Academy Codes Enforcement Director

CODES ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR NAMED FOR THE TENNESSEE FIRE SERVICE AND CODES ACADEMY

“We look forward to having Linda joining us,” said Roger Hawks, Executive Director, the Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy.  See text of announcement (PDF).

MTCOA President Linda Lichtenberger has accepted a position at the Tennessee Fire & Codes Enforcement Academy (TFACA).  She will become the Codes Enforcement Program Director on the 16th of June, 2008.

ICC Board Member and Metro Nashville Codes Director Terry Cobb said, "Linda Lichtenberger has proven herself to be a real asset to our department and the Metro Government.  I am confident she will prove herself a valuable asset to the Tennessee Fire & Codes Academy."

MTCOA First Vice President Patty Mathews said, “Linda is a very skilled, inspiring leader with a demonstrated interest in training and education for code officials.  She has great capacity for getting the hard jobs done on time.  Although I am sure that Metro will miss her, TFACA makes a strong statement as to the high caliber people they want serving on their staffs.  Linda will be a great asset to TFACA.”

At right Linda is shown at the recent 2008 TBOA Annual Training & Education Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee where she was elected TBOA 2008 Secretary:

Linda said, “One of the primary responsibilities of the Fire & Codes Enforcement Academy, which is our professional development organization, is to make resources available that will assist Code Officials and Inspectors in being successful.  Training and education will answer that responsibility by developing and delivering economical, accessible education activities that will foster career development and promote job satisfaction and professional advancement.

"To meet these goals TFACA will continue to offer a collection of career-building resources, which provides variety, relevancy, quality, convenience, affordability, timeliness and hands-on, in-depth and interactive classes. I look forward to receiving your input and direction.”

Tennessee Building Official Association President Tim Ward said,  I congratulate Linda.  She is one of us.  Knowing Linda and how she has always been willing to help TBOA, ICC, Region 8 and MTCOA - and knowing her often demonstrated keen interest in code official training and education, I am confident she will make a splendid and effective transition and addition to the TFACA campus.  (See text of announcement.)
